Palm Pre Mobile Phone

The Palm Pre was unveiled at the CES (Consumer Electronics Show) indicating not only is Palm still in business but going head to head with the Apple Iphone. Palm, once a heavyweight in the tech industry,  was knocked out by their competitors but are now fighting back with the Palm Pre 3G phone. The touchscreen mobile phone runs Palm’s new webOS and some of its features is sure to keep Apple on their toes.

The hype continues in anticipation for Palm Pre’s release, which is expected to be in March.  If you are an iphone user then there are some things to take notice about the Palm Pre smartphone features.

  1. Big 3.1 display screen with 320 x 480 pixels
  2. Lower part of the screen supports gestures, not only single touches
  3. Wireless 3G cellular, wi-fi and bluetooth
  4. web integration with Palm’s new webOS
  5. a more effective mobile web browser
  6. a cellular interface which will feature their carrier Sprint’s various on device services
  7. media support which includes current video, image and audio standard formats.

Whether Palm can meet the challenge in the highly competitive mobile phone industry will soon be seen when Palm Pre makes its debut.
